The Tasman Park Track Details
The track at Launceston Racecourse has a shape similar to a lozenge. There are four rather short straights to run and there are four turns in total. The circumference of the Tasman Park track is 1 830 metres with the home straight being only 230 metres long.
The Tasman Park track at Launceston Racecourse is always run in a counter clockwise direction and is most favourable for the horses that are running in the inside barrier for the shorter distance starting points but because of the many turns it is best for horses that are nearer the inside and running on pace regardless of what distance the starting point is at.
